Rev. Joel Wallschlaeger
Pastor Joel Wallschlaeger was born in St. Louis, Missouri and was raised in Wisconsin and Nebraska. He was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin and confirmed at Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church in Omaha, Nebraska. Pastor Joel attended Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska and received his pastoral education at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri.
His first call in 2004 was to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Lynchburg, Virginia. He was installed here at Hope Lutheran Church in 2016. He enjoys the outdoors, running, baseball and following the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Pastor Joel is married to Najwa and their marriage has been blessed with two daughters. They reside in Manassas, Virginia.
His favorite Bible verse is Ephesians 4:32, “Be kind and tenderhearted, forgiving one another as God in Christ has forgiven you.”
